Buddha's Belly Bamboo

Buddha's Belly Bamboo, also known as Bambusa Ventricosa, is most distinguished by its canes with radical curves and bulges. When containerized or exposed to poor, dry conditions, the stalks tend to bulge or swell between the nodes, giving the plant its common name "Buddha's Belly". Buddha's Belly Bamboo tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, and can withstand temperatures below 20° Fahrenheit. It is a very leafy bamboo with 3 inch diameter canes that can reach a maximum height of 55 feet. From ornamental bonsai, to an impenetrable barrier capable of withstanding the hardest storm, Buddha's Belly Bamboo can do it all.
