History
Golf course superintendent for the George Fazio Golf Course at Palmetto Dunes, Dennis R. Congrove founded Greenkeeper in 1982, providing Hilton Head Island with both landscaping and tree care services. The company's early success was a result of an unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. In 1991, Greenkeeper relocated its headquarters to Leg O' Mutton Road — a 7-acre location at the center of Hilton Head Island, where it is still located today. This move allowed for the establishment of the Greenkeeper Nursery where it is currently home to seven different varieties of non-invasive bamboo.
Adam Congrove joined the company in 2000, and initiated the expansion of Greenkeeper's tree care department. And in 2002, Greenkeeper decided to shift its focus away from landscaping in order to concentrate solely on tree care. In the ensuing years, delighted clients sparked unprecedented growth through "word of mouth" advertising.
Still being led by Dennis Congrove today, Greenkeeper continues its commitment to trust, honesty, and respect for employees and clients alike, and has grown into one of the largest and most respected tree service providers in South Carolina.
