Tree Removal

When no other alternatives are available, tree removal becomes a necessary part of arboriculture and is a service Greenkeeper excels at. In most cases, tree removals are performed to eliminate dead trees or ones that have become hazardous to its surroundings and cannot be corrected by other acceptable means. In cases where crowding becomes an issue, trees are removed to eliminate competition so that the remaining trees and plants have more sunlight and space to develop. Another possible reason for tree removals is to allow for new construction and building expansions.
Of all the aspects of arboriculture, tree removal is the most dangerous. Often, tree workers are called upon to remove trees growing in limited spaces or next to buildings, power lines, and other delicate areas. To successfully perform this task, it requires considerable tree removal expertise and training.
At Greenkeeper, our arborists are thoroughly educated in the skill and discipline of tree removal. Our goal in all of our tree work operations is to provide the safest work environment for both our employees and customers, a thorough clean up of all debris in the area, and cause minimal impact to the surrounding landscape.
The Big Beaver ReTREEver™
Currently, there are only two Big Beaver ReTREEvers™ in operation in the entire world, and Greenkeeper is home to one of them. It is the fastest, smartest, and safest tree removal system today. Unlike, traditional tree removal with bucket trucks and tree climbers, the Big Beaver ReTREEver™ eliminates much of the risk to surround vegetation and structures. For the arborists at Greenkeeper, the Big Beaver ReTREEver is an invaluable tool with a number of practical benefits:
Faster Tree Removal
The Big Beaver ReTREEver™ provides a new way to remove trees, even very dangerous trees, safely and efficiently. Its built in grapple and saw blade allows the arborists at Greenkeeper to remove trees and branches faster than ever before.
Safety for Surroundings
For those hazardous trees overhanging valuable structures, it can often be unpredictable and even dangerous to lower down branches using ropes and traditional methods. However, with the Big Beaver ReTREEver™, our arborists are able to avoid such unnecessary risk. The Big Beaver ReTREEver™ is able to grapple onto those unsafe, overhanging tree limbs, and completely control the path of the branches all the way until they are resting safely on the ground.
Safety for Employees
It's the only 100% mechanical tree removal system today. With the Big Beaver ReTREEver's™ ability to trim and remove branches at a vertical height of over 67 feet, no human ever needs to leave the ground, therefore eliminating much of the physical danger caused by tree removals.
Environmental Benefits
Almost all trees can be recycled into useful wood products such as lumber, paper, decorative mulch, and even biofuel. However, traditional tree removal methods often requires logs to be cut into small chunks in order to safely lower them to the ground. The Big Beaver ReTREEver™ on the other hand allows the arborists at Greenkeeper to safely remove logs in 12', 14', and 16' lengths, which enables them to be recycled at local sawmills and paper mills.
